Warehouse and Logistics Manager - North America

Anthropic · San Francisco, CA, New York City, NY · Full-time
Salary not listed

About the role

Scale AI's Infrastructure team builds and operates the compute infrastructure that powers our frontier AI models. We're growing rapidly, and that growth depends on a complex supply chain delivering specialized hardware—servers, accelerators, networking equipment, and critical spares—to data centers across North America. We need someone to own the logistics and warehousing operations that make this possible.

As Warehouse and Logistics Manager, you'll run day-to-day operations for all receiving, storage, inventory control, kitting, and outbound shipments to our data center sites. You report to our Global Warehousing and Logistics Lead and manage both Anthropic-owned warehouses and third-party logistics providers. This is hands-on work: you'll handle vendor relationships, resolve shipping delays and damage claims, coordinate with engineering and procurement teams on deployment timelines, and be the person who moves when a critical spare is needed tomorrow morning. You'll move between floor operations and building the processes, controls, and metrics that let us scale as our hardware footprint grows.

Your core responsibilities include overseeing receiving, inspection, put-away, cycle counting, and fulfillment across North America locations. You'll maintain inventory accuracy and chain of custody for all infrastructure hardware, spares, and consumables from dock to rack. You'll plan domestic freight, coordinate international shipments, select carriers, and manage exceptions like delays and damage. Building and documenting standard operating procedures, training staff and vendors, and reporting on metrics like receiving cycle time, inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, and freight cost will help drive continuous improvement. You'll also handle reverse logistics for returns and end-of-life equipment, coordinate with security teams on sensitive gear, and ensure compliance with safety, hazmat, export control, and customs requirements.

What you need: warehouse or logistics management experience with receiving, inventory control, and shipping. You've worked hands-on with warehouse management systems and spreadsheet analysis. You've managed third-party logistics providers, negotiated service levels, and held vendors accountable. You know domestic freight options (LTL, FTL, parcel) and their documentation. You're familiar with safety and regulatory requirements for IT and electronic equipment, including lithium battery hazmat rules. Strong communication across technical and non-technical teams and external partners is essential. You've built processes from scratch and kept operations running reliably as volume and complexity grew. Travel to US warehouse and data center sites as needed.

Preferred experience includes data center or enterprise IT hardware (servers, GPUs, networking), international freight forwarding and export control like EAR, secure chain-of-custody programs and data-bearing device sanitization, direct warehouse staff management, ERP or procurement systems, lean or Six Sigma methods, forklift certification, or work supporting rapid infrastructure buildouts in cloud, telecom, or similar hardware-intensive industries.

We offer an annual salary of 405,000 to 485,000 USD. A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.
