Staff Platform Infrastructure Engineer

Together AI is building cloud infrastructure purpose-built for AI engineers, serving over 400 trillion tokens monthly to companies like Cursor, Decagon, ElevenLabs, Salesforce and Zoom. You'll join as Staff Platform Infrastructure Engineer, a hands-on technical leadership role establishing a new team and charting the path for how services are built and operated across the organization.

This position sits at the intersection of platform reliability and developer experience. You'll own the shared infrastructure foundation that enables product and platform teams to deploy and operate customer-facing and internal services with confidence. Your mandate is to make that foundation stable, repeatable, and straightforward for teams to adopt without friction.

What you'll do

• Establish the technical direction for service infrastructure spanning Kubernetes, AWS, CDN and edge networking, plus the operational patterns teams will follow.

• Design reusable building blocks like Helm charts and Terraform modules that service teams can adopt at scale.

• Create self-service capabilities, operational runbooks, and AI-assisted tooling that reduce toil and speed up service development.

• Modernize existing services by working directly with engineering teams to strengthen infrastructure patterns and practices.

• Coordinate with Infrastructure, Networking and Security teams to translate company-wide standards into practical, implementable service-level solutions.

• Champion cross-company initiatives including Terraform CI/CD, Kubernetes networking, zero-trust service communication, policy-as-code, and multi-datacenter networking.

• In year one, ship a golden-path service template with scaffolding, Helm charts, CI/CD and GitOps; implement zero-trust policies on production clusters; guide migration to Kargo; and grow the initial team.

What you'll bring

• 7+ years building platform engineering, service infrastructure, cloud systems or SRE capabilities at scale.

• Deep, hands-on experience operating Kubernetes and AWS in production, managing shared infrastructure for deployment, networking, identity and reliability. Comfort with EKS, IAM, VPC, Route 53, CloudFront and ECR.

• Strong Terraform expertise and experience automating infrastructure delivery across teams.

• Working knowledge of service and edge networking: DNS, TLS, CDNs, load balancing, ingress and egress patterns.

• Fluency in Go, Python, TypeScript or another systems-oriented language.

• Track record building reusable infrastructure adopted by multiple engineering teams in production environments.

• Ability to lead ambiguous cross-functional initiatives with strong written communication and proven influence across teams you don't manage.

Nice to have

• GitHub Actions, GitOps workflows or service scaffolding experience.

• Hands-on work with Argo CD, Argo Rollouts or Kargo.

• CDN, WAF, edge infrastructure or Layer 4 networking design and operations.

• Service meshes, zero-trust networking, policy-as-code or multi-region infrastructure experience.

What we offer

• Base salary of $240,000 to $280,000 plus equity and benefits.
