Welo is an AI services company focused on data quality and rating operations. The Welo Data team is launching an audio rating program and needs a QA Audio Rater to maintain quality standards during the pilot phase. You'll work remotely from New Zealand as a contractor, auditing rater output and ensuring consistency across the initial production pool.

The role centers on quality assurance during a critical early stage. You'll review approximately 30% of audio ratings produced during the pilot, flagging any instances where raters have drifted from calibration standards or applied inconsistent scoring. When you spot these issues, you'll document them clearly and provide constructive feedback to help raters realign with project guidelines. Before the broader rater pool launches, you'll also complete onboarding and training materials so you're ready to assess their work from day one.

Your background should include strong attention to detail—you need to catch subtle inconsistencies that others might miss. Pattern recognition matters here; you'll spend time identifying whether miscalibration is isolated or systemic across raters. You should be comfortable articulating feedback in ways that help raters understand exactly what went wrong and how to correct it. This is early-stage work, so self-direction is essential; you'll be working independently without constant oversight.

Prior experience in QA, auditing, or similar rating work strengthens your candidacy, though it's not required if you have the foundational skills.

The position is 10 hours per week at $25 per hour, starting as soon as possible. It's a freelance engagement, ideal if you're looking for flexible, part-time remote work. Complete your onboarding and training before the production phase kicks off, then continue auditing throughout the pilot period.
