Welo is an AI services company building data solutions that power machine learning systems. The Welo Data team is launching a new audio rating program, and they need a QA Audio Rater to maintain quality standards during the pilot phase. You'll work as a freelance contractor, auditing rater output and catching calibration problems before they spread across the team.

Starting as soon as possible, you'll commit 10 hours per week to this remote role. Your main responsibility is reviewing roughly 30% of the audio ratings produced during the pilot stage. You're looking for inconsistencies in how raters are scoring, patterns that suggest miscalibration, and anything that signals the rating pool is drifting from standards. When you spot issues, you'll document them clearly and provide concrete feedback to help raters improve.

Before production scales up, you'll complete onboarding and training so you understand the rating framework inside and out. This early-stage work is crucial because catching problems now prevents bigger headaches later.

You bring strong attention to detail and a consistent eye for quality. You're good at spotting patterns—the kind of miscalibration that other people might miss. You can write clear, actionable feedback that actually helps people understand what went wrong and how to fix it. Working independently during a pilot phase doesn't faze you; you're comfortable being self-directed without constant oversight.

Prior experience in QA, auditing, or similar rating and evaluation work gives you an edge, though the company will train the right person up.
