About the role
Rain is a global payments platform built on stablecoins that serves enterprises, neobanks, developers, and AI agents. The company operates as a Principal Member of both Visa and Mastercard, issuing cards accepted at over 175 million merchant locations worldwide. Rain closed a $250 million Series C in January 2026, led by ICONIQ and valuing the company at $1.95 billion, with additional backing from leading fintech and crypto investors.
The compliance infrastructure at Rain is not a back-office function but a core product surface. Every card issuance, wallet opening, and cross-border transaction depends on compliance controls that are correct, auditable, and fast. Rain is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own this compliance product domain end to end, reporting to the Technology and Product team.
What you'll do
- Oversee the KYC and KYB onboarding experience across all markets Rain operates in, owning conversion rates, accuracy metrics, and cost per verified user.
- Design and refine sanctions screening, PEP and adverse media checks, transaction monitoring, and blockchain analytics for wallet screening and source-of-funds detection.
- Reduce false positives and analyst review time without compromising detection quality, and establish metrics to measure success.
- Build case management, escalation workflows, and SAR/STR submission systems that compliance teams use daily.
- Translate regulatory obligations such as money transmission licensing, MiCA in the EU, VASP regimes, and Travel Rule into technical requirements for engineers.
- Work with Legal and Compliance to turn new market launches into repeatable processes covering jurisdictional configuration, disclosures, data residency, and reporting.
- Manage regulatory change as a product function, converting rule updates into tracked roadmap items rather than reactive crises.
- Ensure conformance with Visa and Mastercard rules across all programs, including BIN controls, MCC restrictions, program registration, and network reporting.
- Develop controls, evidence, and attestation tooling for issuing banks and BIN sponsors to simplify audits.
- Transform internal compliance capability into partner-facing products including APIs, dashboards, configurable rules, and audit logs.
- Define partner control boundaries and where Rain holds requirements, making the model clear enough for both sales and engineering.
- Write compliance product strategy and roadmap, defending prioritization to leadership.
- Instrument all key metrics including pass rates, decision latency, alert volume, and review throughput to drive continuous improvement.
What you'll bring
- Eight or more years in product management with at least three years owning compliance, risk, identity, or payments products in regulated environments.
- Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT principles, including KYC and KYB standards, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring typologies, and SAR workflows.
- Direct experience with card issuing, payments infrastructure, or banking-as-a-service platforms, with understanding of issuing bank, BIN sponsor, and network expectations.
- Proven track record shipping systems where correctness takes priority over speed, with technical depth to design data models and APIs alongside engineers.
- Comfort operating with genuine ambiguity in regulatory frameworks that are still being written.
- Clear, precise writing skills to produce documents that drive action across teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with stablecoins, digital assets, or onchain settlement.
- Familiarity with blockchain analytics tools.
