Portuguese (Europe) Sports Localization Specialist (Football)

You'll join the Translation, Localization, Interpretation, and QA Testing team as a Portuguese (Europe) Sports Localization Specialist focused on football content. Working remotely, you'll review, adapt, fact-check and localize football-related materials from English (US) into Portuguese (Europe), ensuring everything resonates with local audiences while maintaining brand voice and editorial standards.

Your main responsibilities

• Review and localize sports content centered on football, translating and adapting materials to match writing style guides and market expectations
• Conduct localization research to understand Portuguese market trends, local football terminology, product positioning, and best practices for your audience
• Fact-check sports information and provide editorial feedback on written content
• Handle multimedia content localization, including experience with machine translation evaluation where applicable

What you'll bring to the role

• A degree (BS/BA) or 2+ years working in translation, localization, sports journalism, copywriting, or copy-editing
• Deep knowledge of football and the wider sports landscape
• Native-level fluency in Portuguese (Europe) plus excellent English grammar and writing skills
• Strong creative writing, editing, and proofreading abilities in Portuguese (Europe)
• Proven experience localizing multimedia content
• Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, word processors, and spreadsheets; you must own a licensed version of MS Office

Nice to have

• Bylines in major sports publications like ESPN, The Athletic, or FourFourTwo
• Background working with sports media platforms, live score applications, or sports streaming services
• Ability to adapt tone and style for Gen Z and football fan communities

This is a full-time remote position based worldwide.
