Senior Product Designer, Design Systems

Ondo Finance is an institutional-grade financial services platform built on blockchain technology. Founded by former Goldman Sachs Digital Assets team members and backed by leading investors including Founders Fund, Coinbase Ventures, and Pantera Capital, the company operates both a decentralized finance technology division and an asset management arm. Ondo is the global leader in tokenized treasuries, stocks, and ETFs, and continues expanding its institutional-grade offerings onchain.

This role is a hands-on Senior Product Designer position focused on owning and scaling design systems that power Ondo's institutional and consumer platforms. You'll be the primary architect for two distinct design systems across web and mobile products, with support responsibilities for the marketing system. Since the products handle real financial transactions, accessibility and precision are foundational requirements.

What you'll do

• Own the complete design systems for institutional and consumer products: components, tokens, theming, patterns, Figma libraries, and platform-specific interactions across web and mobile
• Define the visual language, motion principles, and interaction details that give both systems their character and ensure they feel polished rather than purely functional
• Design and implement the full component hierarchy from primitives through templates, with careful attention to typography, hierarchy, and the specific demands of financial interfaces
• Work daily with UI engineers to keep tokens and components aligned between Figma and production libraries, maintaining sync across the stack
• Establish how each system adapts to mobile: responsive behavior, platform conventions, and parity rules between web and native surfaces
• Ensure all components meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards, with accessibility built into components rather than added later
• Create documentation and contribution guidelines that enable designers, engineers, and AI agents to work from the system independently
• Manage governance: define contribution processes, versioning, deprecation practices, and track adoption metrics across teams
• Proactively audit systems for gaps, inconsistencies, and drift, then drive fixes without waiting to be asked
• Integrate AI tools into daily workflows, including design agents, markdown guidelines, and MCP integrations that connect systems to design and engineering tools

What you'll bring

• Six or more years of product design experience, with at least three years specializing in design systems at scale
• Proven success building and scaling shared design systems across multiple products and platforms, including both web and mobile-specific systems
• Strong UI fundamentals: visual hierarchy, typography, layout mastery, and refined interaction details with a clear perspective on motion and visual expression
• Deep expertise in scalable components and design tokens, including theming strategies like dark modes and multi-brand systems
• Working knowledge of how components and tokens translate to front-end libraries, including React, React Native, Swift, or Kotlin implementations
• Advanced Figma proficiency with variables, modes, auto layout, component properties, and large-scale library management
• A daily collaborative relationship with engineers, not a handoff-based approach
• Substantial accessibility expertise and a track record of shipping WCAG AA compliant components
• Experience writing documentation and running governance across product teams
• Fluency with AI tools in design or engineering workflows, including agents and MCP integrations
• Familiarity with design-to-code tools like Code Connect, token pipelines, or Storybook
• A systems-oriented mindset that balances attention to patterns with pixel-level precision
