About the role
Alchemy is the infrastructure backbone powering Web3's most important applications. The platform processes over $1 trillion in transactions annually and is trusted by institutions like JPMorgan, Stripe, Visa, and Franklin Templeton. Backed by leading venture firms including a16z, Coatue, and Silver Lake, Alchemy is building the foundational layer for a decentralized, AI-enabled internet.
You'll join Alchemy's Product team as the Product Lead for Developer Experience, owning the self-serve growth engine that drives the company's core revenue. This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco.
The core of your mandate: developers discover Alchemy, sign up, make their first API call, scale usage, and upgrade their plan—largely without human interaction. That funnel is one of the most direct levers on company revenue. But it's shifting fast. AI coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor are becoming how developers access our platform, and agent-mediated consumption will soon be dominant.
Your ownership spans multiple interconnected areas
- Dashboard and core developer tools: signup flows, app creation, first API key generation, usage and compute unit visibility, upgrade paths, team administration, and observability features that let developers debug their own traffic
- End-to-end developer experience: documentation, SDKs, quickstarts, error messaging, sandbox and testnet environments, and the critical first hour of integration
- Product-led growth strategy: map the complete journey from docs through first API call to first paid workload to scaled production usage, instrument every step, identify drop-offs, and systematically eliminate them
- Agent experience: position Alchemy as the default infrastructure choice for AI coding agents, owning how your MCP server, agent skills, and machine-readable documentation perform inside emerging AI development tools
- Experimentation infrastructure and practice: build A/B and holdout testing tooling, run pricing and onboarding experiments, and establish a cadence of shipping and learning weekly
- Data analysis: dive into the warehouse yourself, build cohort-level funnels, spot behavioral anomalies, and surface uncomfortable truths about what's actually working
You bring 10+ years in product with deep expertise in developer platforms, APIs, or infrastructure. You've owned a dashboard or console that developers use daily and can demonstrate direct ownership of a self-serve funnel at scale—showing what moved, by how much, and why it was you. You have a rigorous experimentation practice. You know the difference between real lift and statistical noise, you size tests before running them, and you've built experimental culture across teams.
Your analytical chops are genuine. You build models, audit instrumentation, catch bad data joins, and defend numbers in front of executives. You actively seek disconfirming data and prefer being corrected early over being right in a presentation later. You drive outcomes across engineering, design, documentation, marketing, sales, and finance despite owning none of them. You run your own discovery calls, monitor support channels, and can walk a CTO through both technical integration and pricing models in one conversation. You're technical enough to build with Alchemy's own APIs, prototype with AI agents, and read code when dashboards don't have the answer.
