Lead SDET – (India)

Welo Data, part of Welocalize, is a global provider of AI training data and localization services working with a distributed community across 100+ countries. The organization connects contributors with meaningful projects that advance artificial intelligence development while maintaining ethical standards and quality. For this engagement, Welo Data is looking for a Lead SDET to oversee quality assurance architecture across a complex multi-layered platform handling onboarding processes.

You'll serve as the technical authority governing QA efforts spanning frontend, middleware, and backend systems. Your core responsibility is ensuring that quality checks happen independently at each layer rather than relying on assumptions from upstream validation. You'll establish and enforce QA delivery standards, quality gates, and evidence requirements across cross-functional teams. This includes reviewing frontend constraint definitions and state-model outputs for accuracy, examining API schema reconstructions and network traces for technical rigor, and coordinating with QA Analysts, SDETs, and Test Operations Associates to keep delivery on track.

The role demands technical leadership in API contract testing and data modeling—particularly complex entity relationships with hierarchical or parent-child structures. You'll review test architecture decisions, validate coverage strategies, coordinate dependency resolution, and act as the escalation point when technical discrepancies arise between layers. A major part of the job involves compiling technical evidence dossiers, identifying gaps or inconsistencies, and preparing materials for client handoff. You'll also report on delivery health, technical risks, and unresolved dependencies.

You bring 8+ years in QA leadership spanning multiple testing layers and proven expertise in API contract testing governance. You have practical experience with knowledge graphs or entity-relationship data modeling applied to test and data traceability. You understand layered system architectures deeply and can articulate why independent verification at each layer matters. Your track record includes setting delivery standards and quality gates, and you've mentored or managed SDETs and QA Analysts. You can synthesize technical findings into clear stakeholder-ready materials and communicate credibly across functions.

Experience leading complex multi-week technical QA engagements, establishing evidence and traceability models across technical workflows, or working with knowledge graphs or structured dependency modeling would strengthen your candidacy.
