About the role
OP Labs is the team behind Optimism, a Layer 2 blockchain that handles over 65% of Ethereum's Layer 2 activity. Companies like Sony, Coinbase, Uniswap, and Kraken use the OP Stack to launch their own blockchains. The company has raised $178M from top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Paradigm and operates with a strong engineering culture centered in New York.
You'll join as Enterprise Sales Lead for the Korea region, tasked with driving institutional adoption of Optimism across major financial institutions globally. This is a strategic and hands-on role where you'll act like a general manager for the institutional business, owning everything from market entry strategy through deal closure and ongoing partnership scaling.
Your core responsibilities
- Define and execute the institutional strategy end-to-end, identifying high-leverage market opportunities like stablecoin corridors, embedded finance use cases, and B2B payment rails
- Source, structure, and close complex partnerships with major institutions, translating protocol advantages into narratives that resonate with C-suite decision-makers
- Work closely with product, engineering, and partnership teams to ensure seamless integration, onboarding, and successful go-to-market execution
- Gather and relay market feedback to influence product decisions around compliance features, wallet user experience, and account abstraction
- Represent Optimism at industry events, institutional conferences, and policy forums while publishing thought leadership on programmable money and payments infrastructure
- Maintain relationships across the ecosystem—wallets, stablecoin issuers, banking-as-a-service providers, and other Layer 2s
You bring at least 10 years of enterprise sales experience with a proven track record closing and scaling complex institutional deals. You understand fintech infrastructure deeply: wallets, custody, card issuing, stablecoins, compliance tooling. You're familiar with crypto infrastructure, Ethereum, Layer 2 concepts, and wallet abstraction. You're a sharp strategic thinker who can map fragmented value chains and build BD theses. You're comfortable with C-level stakeholders, navigate multi-party partnerships, and can build 0-to-1 programs with minimal oversight. You translate fluently between business, technical, and ecosystem stakeholders, even when they have varying crypto knowledge. You thrive in ambiguity, iterate quickly, and are motivated by the mission to rebuild global finance on open, composable infrastructure.
