Senior/Staff Software Engineer - Moonpay Enterprise

MoonPay Enterprise builds financial infrastructure for moving value at scale: crypto, stablecoins, tokenized assets, and the payment systems that move them. This is a backend engineering role on the Enterprise team, where you'll design and operate the systems that power how businesses move real money at scale. You're choosing between three tracks based on what excites you most: building compliance infrastructure (KYB/KYC), architecting new products like custody from the ground up, or working directly with blockchain protocols on stablecoin issuance and on-chain systems.

What you'll do

• Design and build Rust backend services that handle high-volume financial transactions with guarantees around correctness, idempotency, and auditability
• Own features end to end: shape product specs, design technically, implement, test, deploy, and monitor in production
• Integrate with external partners—banks, payment processors, blockchains, identity vendors—and build abstractions that make those integrations reliable and maintainable
• Drive observability, incident response, security practices, and API design improvements across the engineering org
• Collaborate closely with product, compliance, and engineering teams across MoonPay's global network
• (Staff level) Set technical direction for your area, mentor engineers, and guide architectural decisions spanning multiple teams

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of backend engineering shipping production systems at scale (8+ for Staff)
• Deep expertise in a statically compiled language like Rust, Go, C#, or C++; fundamentals matter more than specific language background
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design, data modeling, and asynchronous processing
• Experience working in correctness-critical domains: financial systems, double-entry ledgers, reconciliation, or similar precision-dependent software
• Ownership-driven mindset focused on outcomes; you ship features in hours to days and products in days to weeks
• Strong critical thinking about AI-assisted development: you drive productivity with AI tools while maintaining full control over correctness and security
• Genuine interest in crypto, stablecoins, and the future of payments infrastructure

Nice to have

• Professional Rust experience or strong motivation to become an expert in it
• Background with fiat rails, banking integrations, or payments systems
• Solana (Rust) or Solidity development experience, especially for the blockchain track
• Experience at high-velocity, high-accountability engineering teams
