About the role
MoonPay is a fast-growing fintech infrastructure company that moves value across the globe—crypto, stablecoins, tokenized assets, and more. The platform powers 30M+ customers and 500+ ecosystem partners, with regulatory licenses across the U.S., UK, EU, Canada, and Australia. This is a company where AI is woven into every role, outcomes drive decisions, and teams move at real velocity to solve hard problems.
The Technology & Security Services team is looking for a Senior SOC Analyst to lead security operations from Bengaluru on-site. You'll monitor real-time threats, investigate complex incidents, and mentor a growing SOC team working 24/7 rotations. This role sits at the intersection of hands-on security work and team leadership—you'll own both tactical incident response and the operational excellence that scales a security organization.
What you'll do
- Monitor and investigate suspicious network, endpoint, and cloud activity through SIEM queries and threat-analysis tools; identify detection gaps and patterns to strengthen SOC effectiveness.
- Lead incident investigations for critical or complex cases, document findings against established playbooks, and serve as the escalation point for the SOC team.
- Handle email-based threats including phishing and malware, manage endpoint security through EDR and MDM policies, and mentor junior analysts on investigative techniques.
- Review analyst cases in real time, provide hands-on coaching on incident handling, and conduct regular knowledge-sharing sessions on threat trends and lessons learned.
- Manage 24/7 shift schedules, optimize team coverage and workload distribution, and maintain accurate incident documentation and runbooks.
- Monitor external threats including brand impersonation, fraudulent domains, and social-engineering activity; validate honeytoken decoys and guide analysts on external threat detection.
- Provide performance feedback, identify training needs, and track career growth for team members in collaboration with the SOC Manager.
What you'll bring
- Hands-on SOC experience in monitoring, incident response, or threat analysis with proven ability to triage complex incidents and mentor junior staff.
- Deep knowledge of advanced threats including data exfiltration, lateral movement, privilege escalation, credential harvesting, and unauthorized cloud access.
- Strong grasp of IT infrastructure: networks (IP, DNS, ports, protocols), endpoints, identity systems (IAM, SSO, MFA), and cloud environments.
- Leadership and mentoring capability—you explain complex concepts clearly, give constructive feedback, and help analysts grow technically.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable documenting incidents, writing runbooks, and presenting metrics to leadership.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with sound judgment on escalation priorities and systemic process improvements; you own SOC outcomes.
- Experience managing shift schedules, on-call rotations, or team operations alongside technical work.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
